Creating meaningful cultural exchange and skill-building opportunities for young people can be difficult without accessible, inclusive programmes that cross international boundaries.

Ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games, there was a unique opportunity to connect young people from across Europe through sport, creativity and shared experience – but the initiative needed local support to make participation possible.

We supported 10 pupils from Southwark to attend the inaugural Infinity Games, held in Clichy, Paris, from 28 to 30 June 2024.

Bringing together students from Paris, Southwark and Heidenheim, Germany, the Infinity Games combined sport, street art and cultural exchange. Activities included archery, wheelchair basketball, athletics and collaborative mural painting – all designed to promote teamwork, friendship and personal growth.

The programme concluded with a community picnic hosted by Mayor Rémi Muzeau of Clichy, capping off a transformative experience for the young participants.
